This item is a premium photo quality calendar for 2008 containing 13 full color photos from the annual spring time 2006 Naples Seaplane Expo, Fly In and Safety Seminar showing the classic aircraft, people and events of this annual gathering of seaplane enthusiast from all over New England put on by Naples Seaplane Service at the Brandy Pond Seaplane Base, Naples, Maine. This calendar features many of the aircraft that show up for this annual event including Cessna and Piper float planes and amphibians. Over the years this event has seen the Hawk XP, 180, 185, 206, L-19 Bird Dog, PA-12, Super Cub, Super Cruiser, Scout, Husky and Maule Amphibs and many more. The entire 2005 event including aircraft arriving and departing as well as footage of the seminars including Graham Pritchard's amazing ski equipped C130 Hercules daring rescue flight to the South Pole to bring back a scientist stricken with cancer and needing medical attention that could not wait until winter's end as well as clips of the BBQ lunch graciously prepared by the Katahdin Wings with musical background can be seen in the DVD video of this same event listed elsewhere in my eBay store. This item is our first edition of our Seaplane Calendar featuring aircraft from the Hammondsport, NY Glenn H. Curtiss Seaplane Fly In and Homecoming. This year, in conjunction with the Glenn H. Curtiss Museum, volunteers from the museum rebuilt and flew a replica of the Curtiss “America”, the world’s largest flying multi engine biplane, originally built and flown on this very spot on Keuka Lake in upstate New York by Glenn H. Curtis, the “birthplace of Seaplane Aviation”. An annual part of this Fly In and Homecoming is the ritual “Parade of Seaplanes” that fly around the lake, pausing in salute over the burial place of Glenn H. Curtiss. This calendar includes photos of the following aircraft: Seabee, Cessna 180, Piper J3 Cub, Grumman Super Widgeon, Murphy Moose, Kit Fox, Piper J4 Cub Coupe and the Grumman Turbine Goose.
